![]() ![]() Those glimpses happened for maybe 8 chapters TOTAL during the first 3 books (keep in mind that a majority of the chapters are quite short). But, on top of that, there are a few glimpses of action happening outside of the palace in which a rebel society wants to overthrow the monarchy. It seemed like the author wanted to tell a story about how women are narrowed down to a single pick for the rising prince to take as his wife and the new Queen. I honestly wish these books were paced better because we see the entire Selection but we are also shown very few pieces of background to the history of the world these characters live in. This review contains spoilers so be warned. However, as fun as these books were to read with how involved I got in them, I am not a fan of the pace this series went at. Let me start by saying I usually REALLY enjoy books like this. When someone else remembers some great story about me/us that I’ve forgotten. Not walking up but looking at a beautiful staircase. Spending an hour typing at a coffee shop. ![]() ![]() That my wedding dress was tea length, not floor. ![]()
